About this listen

Charlotte Griffolino knows a rake when she sees one - and the man her niece longs to marry most definitely qualifies. Stuart Drake is handsome, charming - and penniless. That he is interested in more than Susan's considerable inheritance is highly unlikely. That he will be immune to Charlotte's allure is even more unlikely...

With a Viscount title in his future, Stuart expects it shouldn't be difficult to marry an heiress. Still, once he meets Charlotte, how hard will it be to charm her? Quite, actually. Now Stuart has only one option: to take revenge on her through seduction. But learning what this woman needs might only leave him hungry for more...

This is a good story - unusually rich character descriptions, and an interesting plot. (There are dark secrets as usual, but some of these are out of the ordinary.)
The narration is a mix of good and INCREDIBLY grating and therefore distracting (for me anyway) wrong pronounciations ... I was tempted several times to stop listening but the story made me bear it.
The word 'back' - you will be amazed how frequently and with how many different meanings that word recurs - being mispronounced as 'bark' is the most frequent. There are more than a dozen other such mispronunciations important to the plot, such as 'aunt', 'father', 'cad' ... the list goes on.
The good points: she is a good actor.
My advice is, try two chapters; if the mispronunciations don't bother you overmuch, you'll like this book.

Excellent story, narration nearly ruined it ( for me maybe not for all).

Not sure why this Narrator narrates as if she is a simple minded 7 year old.

Her characters merged in one sing song voice. Just awful. How she has narrated so many books is beyond me.

A decent story (for the genre) but, What an Awful, ridiculous narrator
