Shy, but scrupulous, he is happy working as a coroner in the Cologne morgue - until one of his usually taciturn “clients” starts talking to him. It seems the ghost of a recently deceased (and surprisingly chatty) small-time car thief named Pascha is lingering near his lifeless body in drawer number four of Martin’s morgue. He remains for one reason: his accidental death was actually murder. Pascha isn’t too keen on the good doctor, considering the tidy manner in which his body was dissected upon the autopsy table.

Summary
Things are even whackier than usual in London....
When a nurse is found murdered in the Royal London Hospital, Cassie think it's going to be just another one of Violet's regular old murder cases to solve. But when they find out that the woman was killed by her accomplice, and that he got away with a number of vials containing the Ebola virus, the stakes suddenly get a lot higher.
As Cassie and Violet race around London before the deadly virus is unleashed, they find they're always one step behind. And to make matters even more complicated, Cassie finds herself thinking she should probably do something with her life. She just doesn't know what, though Jake and Brianne have a few suggestions.
Will Cassie and Violet be able to find the stolen vials in time to prevent an attack on London?
The Cassie Coburn mysteries are a cozy mystery series featuring a Sherlock Holmes-style sleuth. If you want a light, fun, modern mystery featuring a San Francisco girl totally out of her element in London, and a crazy French woman who happens to be very good at noticing things, then this is the series for you.

Love This Series So Much!
Definitely one of my favorite cozy mystery series. Honestly, I think the only thing this series needs is a better cover design to match the content, the covers really don't do them justice. I have been listening to these with my 13 year old and she's living them too. It's a modern take on Sherlock Holmes and Watson, with Sherlock character as a French woman with his personality and Watson's character is a American woman who moved to the UK after an accident kept her from being a surgeon and is trying to figure out what to do now with her life. These two polar opposite characters are forming a unique friendship and each of their investigations provide so much entertainment, laughter and suspense. This series is truly a lot of fun and only made better by the incredible narrator, her accents and acting skills are top notch!! I have broken down and bought them all but, if you have a credit then it's definitely worth it! These books are much better in order but can be read individually.
As a parent I would place this as PG13 - a middle school read and up. These books have been really pretty clean, very mild language, there is some description on the murders as to be expected in murder mysteries but not in an overly graphic way. The only mild warning is there is a love interest and there is talk of sexuality and attraction but there have been no sex scenes or anything of that nature.

Stellar Cozy Mystery Thriller!
I loved this audio book! It had an original plot. The story was more than the typical whodunit. Cassie Coburn is involved with investigating and trying to stop a biological terrorist threat in London. I was enthralled and could hardly wait to listen to what would happen next. It was a true cozy mystery and did not contain gore and violence, which was quite an accomplishment given the story line, This book was a cross between a thriller and a cozy. The narrator was very talented and did a great job with various accents. (A film version would be fantastic!)

Where is the Ebola viles
This was the first book that i have read in this series. It was had a great story line. Cassie helping Violet track down what happened to the Ebola virus vials. The having to stop the terrorist attack. I look forward to more in this series. The narrator did a fantastic job with the voices. Loved the accents. Especially Violets. I need the whole series!
This is the first book in the series that I've read, and I am hooked.
I loved Violet, she was blunt, highly intelligent and just a bit scary. Her parts of the story had me grinning the whole book through.
Cassie was also interesting, but compared to Violet, she came across as quite normal.
I loved the tension int he book, and the mystery was well done. It all made sense logically once revealed but there was nothing obvious about it, I really enjoy that, I hate it when I figure it out early on.
The narration was excellent, great character voices and the delivery was smooth and well paced.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

The best in the series yet!
Whacked in Whitechapel by Samantha Silver continues the wild saga of Cassie as she helps the brilliant Violet solve crimes. This time Cassie gets a text from Violet to come immediately to the hospital. When she arrives, panting, she finds out that Violet is no patient; rather, she merely wanted to know how long it would take an anxious person to get to the hospital. Instead a doctor found a nurse dead in a storage closet, and Violet has taken over the investigation. Soon Violet discovers that the samples of the Ebola virus in temporary storage at the lab in an effort to find a vaccine have been stolen, taken by this nurse, who passed the vials on to her boyfriend. So the race gets going to locate the vials and stop a potential bioterrorism attack.
This book continues a series of unique and creative Sherlock Holmes pastiches. I like the way the books reflect Holmes without ever referencing him. Violet clearly is a representation of Holmes, using his methods of logic and demonstrating his same arrogance towards lesser mortals. She also has her medical sidekick, Cassie, who was months, if not less, away from completing her medical residency as an orthopedic surgeon when a drunk driver caused her to lose 5% of the use of her hand and ending her surgical career. This reminds of Watson, who was injured in either the leg or shoulder, depending upon which story you read, as a doctor in the British Afghan war.
The plot of this really kept me attached to this book. I enjoyed the first two in the series, but this was even better, as they race against time and terrorists to stop an Ebola attack. Cassie really comes into her own here, as her medical knowledge helps out. Of course, when Violet credits Cassie with being instrumental in the case, she credits the fact that Cassie was so completely wrong in speculating that no one would be crazy enough to do a particular action, and that sparks the solution in Violet's mind.
The characters truly delight, and we find ourselves really invested in them. We are happy to see that Cassie has a date with her pathologist friend and considers possibilities for her future, including going back to school to earn a different specialty as a doctor. She also thinks about turning to detection, which she is enjoying doing with Violet but isn't sure she is good enough to do so. Violet comes across as someone with Asperger's Syndrome, which is now just considered on the light end of the autism spectrum. She doesn't really understand the feelings of others personally but views them clinically. Yet despite her demonstrations of inhumanity, Violet does have endearing features to herself, and we wish her the best success.
I really enjoyed the performance of Patricia Santomasso in the audiobook of Whacked in White Chapel. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of listening to this book, with the narration being effective at keeping my attention attached.
Whacked in White Chapel proved to be a very fun book that kept me drawn to the plot and characters. I highly enjoyed this book and give it five stars.
