About this listen

Fern has the voice of an angel, but as an underpaid barmaid and pub singer, she's going nowhere fast. Then she enters the TV talent show Fame Game, and this could be her big break. But then, things are never that simple.

Evan David's exquisite tones have enthralled opera buffs throughout the world. Everyone around him panders to his every need, but what he really needs now is a break - from everything. Two worlds collide when Fern becomes Evan's assistant, and neither is prepared for the dramatic effect they have on each other. Something happens when they're together, and it's more than just music....

This is one I will remember. It's sad and it's funny and while it's improbable, I feel as if I'd like it to be possible. One part I questioned was the decision to include the pit disaster. the Aberfan disaster is still too raw in my mind to find something so obviously based on it, written into a romantic comedy, it seemed incongruous and unneccessary especially as Evan has no hint of a Welsh background elsewhere.

Hooked

The barrator is ok ̣ tge stoy is a bit far fetched and reading along it does not bore but is it not a bit to good to be a bit realistic? Well it good be why it is so readable…they dont say twp sides to evey storỵ for nothing after all!

Too good to be true
