Summary

The first in a series from bestselling author Jo Bartlett… Welcome to The Cornish Country Hospital

A new start…

When Danni Carter moves to Cornwall from London, she hopes it will be the fresh start she so desperately needs. She’s nervous, but hopefully the change of scene will help her to finally forget her feelings for Lucas Newman, a man she can never be with, because he’s already engaged to Danni’s best friend, Esther.

An Impossible Dilemma…

But when Lucas and Esther decide to follow Danni to Cornwall, and both announce they will be working with her at the new St Piran’s hospital, Danni is thrown into turmoil again. She can’t lose Esther, but being near Lucas is getting harder to deal with. Will she have to give up her new life before it’s even started?

A chance to start again?

Throwing herself into work, Danni finds herself drawn to new patient, Connie Berrycloth, a woman Danni knows has dark secrets of her own. Secrets that are about to be revealed….

As the two women form a friendship, Danni begins to realise that letting go of her dreams might be the only way of holding on to the people she loves.

The lovely characters and great narration

The odd old friend from previous books being included in the story, in a setting that seems so real. If you have read/listened to any of Jo’s other books you will certainly enjoy this one, I was sad when it finished and hope this is going to be another fantastic series. A credit spent well.

Great!

I hadn’t realised this book had some of the characters from the Cornish midwives in, it made me love it all the more. I got really into this story and at times was shouting at my phone about Lucas, awful man (as he was meant to be) This was another lovely story with the same feel, humour and at times laugh out loud moments as Jo’s other books. Can’t wait to listen to book 2.

Another great book from an outstanding author.

I loved how the author included a few characters and places from her previous brilliant series of books The Cornish Midwife. I was sad when they had come to an end but starting this one was like visiting an old friend again. I can’t wait for the next one now!

Totally enjoyable

This was such a lovely story, in typical Jo Bartlett style… some great new characters and a few we know from Jo’s previous books.
I really enjoyed this and couldn’t stop listening.
