Summary

With nowhere to go, no one to help her, Leigh fled into the arms of Luke Casteel! Leigh Van Voreen had to escape from Boston's Farthinggale Manor. The foul secret she harbored within her seemed to darken her life forever. Jillian, her mother, would not believe her...and Tony Tatterton, her stepfather, had betrayed her most cruelly.

But the pure devotion of Luke Casteel promised her hope and respect. Only Luke knew her deepest of secrets...only Luke would love and protect her. Bravely, she bore the suspicions of the Willies' hillfolk as she tried to grasp the happiness that had so long eluded her. Leigh prayed with all her heart that her bright, shining dreams would save her from tragedy at last....

Beautiful final book

Once you get used to the often whispered voice of the narrator, who I think was just trying to make the main character sound young, the story pulls you in and it is a heartbreaking, yet must listen to for the final story in the Casteel saga. V sad to have got to the end.

Great if you can get past the whispering!!

I am trying to persevere with this book because it’s the last me of a great set…. But the whispery voice is so off putting!!!

The annoying whispering voice is really irritating!

I almost gave up on this book simply because of the narrators voice but since it's the last in the series I put up with it.

Ridiculous voice over

Story has been ruined by the way the narrator talks as Leigh as a little girl .. the voice is silly and very very child like

Horrendous narration, ruins a good story.

So I persevered through this, I wanted to complete the series but I have to agree with all the other reviews, the narration is horrible. I get that Robin was trying to make Leigh sound young but what's with the whispering, it's so annoying. Even with the volume up on high, some parts of the book could not be heard. The other Characters were fine but she's ruined the majority of the story with the breathy sickly sweet whispering.
