Summary

With personal savings lower than ever before and household debt going through the roof, many people are in dire need of financial advice. But can a book that includes sex, zombies, and Star Trek really help? You might be surprised. Wealthing Like Rabbits is a sharp, entertaining guide to personal finance that proves sound money management doesn't have to be painful and neither does learning about it.

Combining a unique blend of humor and common sense, Robert R. Brown takes you through the basics of financial planning by using anecdotes and pop culture to shed light on some of the most important yet often mismanaged aspects of personal finance. Covering subjects ranging from retirement savings and mortgages to credit cards and debt, this audiobook will help you balance your life goals with your financial responsibilities.

Take the Author's Own Advice - Read Wealthy Barber

This book had the unfortunate luck to not be the first financial advice book I read. In comparison to The Intelligent Investor, The Wealthy Barber, The Wealthy Barber Returns, Millionaire Teacher and Moolala, this one falls short. Wealthing Like Rabbits is preachy - the author has very strong opinions on what type of luxury items people are "allowed" to splurge on. Instead of teaching the readers to think for themselves, he ridicules.

The non-preachy parts are solid financial advice, but their scope is limited. Any of the abovementioned books give the exact same advice and much more. The wit and humour this book is advertised for are not all that either - if that's why you are considering reading this, pick Moolala or The Wealthy Barber Returns instead.
