About this listen
‘We Poets Speak Of Stars But Who Has Ever Met One?’ contains 62 poems of a varying nature. This poetry book is dedicated to, and begins with a eulogy for, a dear friend who passed away at the age of 70. He was a businessman & lecturer in life and had only just retired. News of this close friend’s death reached the poet on his 35th birthday.
Learning from hard lessons of loss, the poet has entered ‘middle-age’ beginning with grief. Therefore the pervading theme throughout the book is one of coming to terms with the passage of life, distracted by chasing careers, dreams & hopes while wrestling with the loss of loved ones, former lovers, forgotten friends, past colleagues and vanished youth itself.
