Summary
The Custodian Guard have stood watch over the Emperor's Palace on Terra since the foundation of the Imperium. Charged with protecting the Master of Mankind from all threats, within and without, their fearsome resolve is renowned throughout the galaxy, and their golden armour is the last thing that a would-be assassin or saboteur will ever see.
Alongside the Null-maidens of the Sisters of Silence, who are anathema to psykers and sorcerers alike, there is no threat to the Golden Throne that they alone cannot vanquish...until now.

Outstanding in every regard
Superb. Brought to life in spectacular style by the narrators, especially Tieron. Don’t hesitate with this one, enjoy.

Slow start, perfect ending
First part of the book is really slow, but it gets better towards the end.

absolutely superb!
Another great book by Chris Wraight, definitely one of black library's strongest authors. The cast of three actors really added to the audio, and complimented each other and the work exceptionally well.

Slow to start, but totally awesome!
The voice acting between the different characters was superb and was really immersive. The story started quite slow, quite heavy on some politics around the imperium, which may not appeal to everyone but, when the story got going it had me thoroughly engrossed and wanting more. Very, very detailed accounts which fed the lore-hungry side of me perfectly. Once I had finished I straight away got the next book.
A definite recommend, even for those who might not like the slow start.

Stunning
It was absolutly fantastic. Loved every second. My only minor 'complaint' is that it is rather long, but that may be a pro depending on what kind of listener you are.

Great introduction to Custodes and humanity
It's a great introduction book for anyone that likes Custodians, Sisters of Silence or to get a very human perspective over where the story is presently at for Humanity in the 41st Millennium.
I loved Alaya's voice actress (Emma Gregory) and felt she brought a lot to the table but would have liked to see the actual voice actors working together instead of specific voices per chapter as it broke my immersion a little bit hearing Trejon Velloris in 2 different voices and the main 3 characters have 3 different voices based on who was reading the chapter.
Overall a great story let down only a little by poor direction of amazing voice talent, will listen to again.

Perfect
This book is fantastic, well read and constantly interesting as well as action packed. Perfect for fans no matter their preferences of factions.
Its shows the reality of Terra in the 41st millennia, the sisters and custodes are presented as superior to others in the imperium of man but still human not the less. It shows their strengths, weakness and their perfection when they are separated or back to back.
