About this listen

You don’t need to walk across Italy to find meaning. But it sure doesn’t hurt.

What started as a long-distance walk along the Via Francigena turned into something more human—mountains crossed, vineyards wandered, and strangers turned friends.

This isn’t a guidebook. It’s the story of what happens when you stop rushing: broken sandals, golden hour moments, and a version of Tuscany you won’t find on a postcard.

We thought we were just walking. Turns out, we were writing the story of our lives.

Walking through Tuscany gives a compelling description of some of the nice things that one can encounter while hiking in Tuscany, and the narration is done with energy, vitality, and an american accent.
It is, however, not a tale of hiking the Via Francigena: The protagonist and his partner often gets out of their comfort zone, and must resort to trains and taxis.
The text itself is dotted with sit-com phrases that at first livens up the narrative and later grows a bit stale. But if you stick it out to the end, you'll be rewarded with an fanciful defence of why quitting, and NOT hiking all the way to Rome, is exactly the right thing to do for two americans Walking through Tuscany.

A very american tale
