As part of the popular Vintage Beeb range, this is a reissue of the classic 1970s vinyl LP. First published by BBC Records & Cassettes in 1972, it features 14 stories written and read by Johnny Morris, who became enduringly popular in the TV series Animal Magic. Based on the residents of the Bristol Zoo, the stories include 'Charlie and Gladys the Warthogs', 'Hooter the Elephant', 'Lulu the Baby Seal', 'Harum Scarum’s Mistake', and 'Mark and Cark’s New Nest'. Vintage Beeb: classic albums first available as BBC LPs, now available to download for the first time ever.

My son loves this as much as my mum did when she was his age. Lovely stories hearing from all the animals at the zoo.

Great book
Very calming and there isn’t a sad bit as most story’s have. If you are looking for something to calm you down and not bring up any bad thoughts give this a try. It worked for me

Absolute vintage gold!
I remembered these stories from when I was a child and my own kids now (8 and 11) enjoy them just as much! It's lovely to be able to share these lovely stories with them. Johnny Morris is a national treasure!

Our absolute family favourite
How many listens? At least 100 if not more…my kids listen to this every single night. It’s their comfort, as it was when I was little. He’s so clever, so charismatic, so nuanced, so fun.

taste memory
I grew up listening to this album, but it belonged to my sister so I,ve not heard it in years! I loved Tub-thump the gorilla and Lulu - who will forever be associated with the taste of spagetti bolognese!
