Summary

How do venture capital deals come together? This is one of the most frequent questions asked by each generation of new entrepreneurs. Surprisingly, there is little reliable information on the subject. No one understands this better than Brad Feld and Jason Mendelson.

The founders and driving force behind the Foundry Group - a venture capital firm focused on investing in early-stage information technology companies - Brad and Jason have been involved in hundreds of venture capital financings. Their investments range from small startups to large Series A venture financing rounds. The new edition of Venture Deals continues to show fledgling entrepreneurs the inner-workings of the VC process, from the venture capital term sheet and effective negotiating strategies to the initial seed and the later stages of development.

Fully updated to reflect the intricacies of startups and entrepreneurship in today's dynamic economic environment, this new edition includes revisions and updates to coverage on negotiating, gender issues, ICO's, and economic terms. New chapters examine legal and procedural considerations relevant to fundraising, bank debt, equity and convertible debt, how to hire an investment banker to sell a company, and more.

Dense Book

Very informative and detailed book for entrepreneur and VC or anyone interested in the topic. Only downside, I would have preferred to get a physical copy instead since there are some calculations that doesn't translate will in audio.

Must read

It’s full of essential information if you are dealing with VCs in any way, shape or form. A hard copy would be useful for reference, though

A must read/listen for anyone thinking about venture financing

Hands down the best, most useful, and actionable business book I’ve ever read that wasn’t assigned reading during an MBA, although I’m sure some MBA Programs make this required reading now (if not they should). Do yourself a favor. Read this if you’re thinking about financing for your startup.

Fantastic knowledge

This book is packed with information that saves an entrepreneur both time and money. The lingo is complex. However, the book is well structured with simple breakdown of definition. I wish I learned venture deals 10+ years ago. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know about VC deals.
