Summary
The invaders are continuing to strengthen their hold over an America still reeling. But in the hills, woods, and countryside small sparks of rebellion are taking hold, fanning the fires of patriotism that will unite the country against a common enemy.
Finally free from the clutches of Fen Shu, President Madeline Tanner refuses to leave her fellow countrymen to their fate. She is their leader and will stop at nothing to protect her people.
While the rest of the world stands by and watches, a few nations decide they must stand against Chinese aggression, and despite threats to their own countries, join the battle.
The Uprising is beginning.

Enjoying the series and ending on cliffhanger
I am enjoying this series which I got from the plus catalogue, I like this as i get to try new authors and narrators before committing. This series is different as a new author writes the book each time so there is a different tone. I would say that you need to read/listen to the other books first although he does a good job in getting you up to speed.
I was telling my teenagers of some of the alliances that were being formed - very thought provoking.
The narration as always with these three books worked and makes the books.
Cant wait for book 4 now as it has got me gripped and I want to see how it develops.

excellent series of books can't wait for 4th
I really enjoyed this series of books recommend reading one after the other . As a brit found the authors interpretation of sas soldiers and narators voice in Biggles /Dick Van Dyke /everso polite/ eccentric style highly amusing that aside without being to doomsday as book is fictional wished our preasant day world leaders would take a look at such a story and learn something from it only glad Russia was on the west's side in this scenario food for thought

A rare book that I'm not going to finish.
1. Characters we've invested in over the course of the first two books of this very enjoyable series are mostly abandoned.
2. There is entirely too much exposition telling us of the waging of war. Very little is character-driven and those are mainly new characters who come and go.
3. I love books where ordinary people rise to the challenges of a forever changed and dangerous world. Dystopian fiction novels are most excellent. This is about the military prosecution of a war with a cast of thousands.
4. On that note: We are diverted at least twice into passages about Militias in the United States. This comes out of nowhere. It doesn't improve the story. It diverts time from the characters and themes of the prior books. There are many good books about militias. It's completely out of place here.
5. I love this series. Different authors wrote each book. Books one and two are seamless. The third book feels like the author decided just to write his own book (or maybe the publishers did).
6. The reader is excellent.

Poor ending
This book was quite a letdown to the trilogy. First two books were excellent but the final chapter appears to have been written by an amateur writer. Disappointing to say the least

Enjoyed the book with one exception
I really liked the whole series but I kept thinking, "Why are you not nuking their cities???" It is unbelievable that the US would have 12 cities nuked by the Chinese and not respond in kind.

Left Hanging
Loved this series. I guess the end is left to the imagination, but there were lots of loose ends I wanted to be told about. The abrupt end get 4 stars from me.

A bit tedious
the story line was ok, but was a bit lite on practical application. From a resistance view point it deemed understandable just not plausible.

Don’t bather with book 3
I enjoyed book 1 and book 2 was pretty good but not as good. Book 3 is not worth reading. Overall the female characters are weak. So disappointed in book 3 I skipped some of the chapters. Lastly as a psychologist I found the psycho babble irritating.

Good story, poor ending
I liked a couple characters but this book didn’t really end their arcs well. Does Uncle J find T or vice versa? Who knows. Otherwise good story.

I'm sorry..... I had to stop listening
This is a sequel to "The Fall" which was a weak story but picked up enough to make me want to see what came next. But this one is the worst. The idea that after an attack nobody would resist invaders at any level is just beyond my comprehension. Entire divisions of soldiers across the nation would just put their hands in their pockets and kick at rocks because Washington was wiped out? Nuclear silos would just wait for orders? Submarines would only shadow an invasion fleet and not engage? I'm pretty sure there are protocols in place for such an event. Too much planning and planning to make a plan going on in this story. Plus the characters are wooden and unlikeable. I didn't care about them one way or another. Heck, I couldn't remember their names half the time. A huge waste of time.
