About this listen
Finding it hard to meet Mr. Right? Try looking for Mr. Wrong instead.... After 11 years of coupled-up domesticity, Rory Carmichael is single for the first time in her adult life. When she discovers that Martin, her supposedly reliable Mr. Right, is a distinctly unreliable cheater, she’s forced to consider the possibility that everything she knows about relationships is wrong. In an effort to reinvigorate her love life, she sets herself a mission to date as many unsuitable men as possible.

I really wanted to like this. Pippa a Wright writes well and I was encouraged that I'd hit on a new light and enjoyable author but goodness how the story dragged.I've been persevering for over half the listening time determined not to give up but, though there are undeniably far sillier plots in the capacious genre that is chick lit, this certainly has it's share of inanity. People, comments and conversations trying too hard to be endearingly funny or amusing are just plain lame and the premise of the book - dumped girl tries to find new man by first dating unsuitable men for a magazine column she starts isn't broadened out to create anything g truly diverting or absorbing. I think one would find more pace listening to a slew of real magazine dating columns being read out.
The sputtering plot lacks va-va-voom on pretty much every count. I keep switching off and don't see myself reaching the end.
Dreary and weak
