You think you know a person...
Ariel Price wakes up in Lisbon, alone. Her husband is gone – no warning, no note, not answering his phone. Something is wrong.
She starts with hotel security, then the police, then the American embassy, at each confronting questions she can't fully answer: What exactly is John doing in Lisbon? Why would he drag her along on his business trip? Who would want to harm him? And why does Ariel know so little about her new, much younger, husband?
The clock is ticking. Ariel is increasingly frustrated and desperate, running out of time, and the one person in the world who can help is the one person she least wants to ask...

'My thriller of the year so far' Lee Child
'Two Nights in Lisbon is his best yet. This one is not to be missed' Karin Slaughter
'There's no such thing as a book you can't put down, but this one was close' Stephen King©2022 Chris Pavone (P)2022 Head of Zeus

It was a brilliant listen

with this author. Felt compelled to stay listening despite the long drags/loss of pace throughout. It really could do with being more compact to keep the pages turning, perhaps the author didn’t want to finish it? A personal comment, I found it hard to connect or truly get under the skin of the characters.
The excessive over-labouring of certain points may have contributed to this, where it started to feel like a lecture.
Overall, a good yarn, will no doubt be developed into a film (or maybe that’s too close to home!)
Engaging story, a little long.
