About this listen

Cambridge is home to 18,000 students, 1,500 academics, and one serial killer....

For the students of Ariel College, a siege mentality has developed following weeks of media interest in 'the Cambridge Butcher'. University life has become not about surviving their exams, but simply about surviving.

Forensic psychiatrist Matthew Denison is sure that his traumatised patient has the killer's identity locked in her memory; that within the little clique she belonged to lurks someone with a grudge. Someone who thought: 'What's a little decapitation between friends?' Someone who has yet to finish settling their score....

I really enjoyed this book and I thought the narrator was excellent. There were a lot of twists and turns in the plot line but I have to admit I did guess the ending from pretty early on, although how we get there was extremely entertaining and didn't detract from the book at all. Really enjoyed Jane McDowell's narration which helped the nuances of the book come alive.

Great plot and narration - thoroughly enjoyable

This book deserves more than 5 stars. I listened to it almost in one sitting and was gripped from start to finish. It is so much more than a Whodunnit and a forensic psychiatrist as the lead character makes an interesting change from a pathologist. I wish I could find something else she has written - I would buy it like a shot! Beautifully read which is an added bonus.
