About this listen

Over the course of a steamy and tense afternoon, 12 jurors deliberate the fate of a 19-year-old boy alleged to have murdered his own father. A seemingly open and shut case turns complicated, igniting passions and hidden prejudices.

This audio also includes an interview with Reginald Rose's widow, Ellen, in which she talks about how her late husband came to write the original teleplay version of Twelve Angry Men.

Critic reviews

"This tidy portrait of clashing social attitudes in a jury room definitely creaks with age. But somehow the creaks begin to sound like soothing music, a siren song from a period of American drama when personalities were drawn in clean lines, the moral was unmistakable, and the elements of a plot clicked together like a jigsaw puzzle without a single missing piece." Loved every minute, it never gets old. Good production with an interesting interview at the end. Well worth a credit.

Brilliant

fairly decent performance but it was obviously recorded live on broadcast as the audience thought it was a comedy in areas which it is not. spoilt the drama of the story.

Excellent performance of this memorable play and the interview with Reginald Rose's wife is terrific. Well worth a listen (or more!)

I love the whole premise of this story!
What is reasonable doubt? Can you be 100% sure of someone’s guilt - so much so you would sentence them to death?
This is set back in the 1950 where the jury is made up of all men from differing backgrounds and life experiences. This is a wonderful journey into observing bad assumptions and how prejudice impacting on truth and justice! Demonstrates how one man can make a difference if they feel strongly enough to stand up for their beliefs!
I have listened to this Audiobook / play dozens of times and it never gets old!
Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love the film. The dialogue is superb. So any presentation of this show was always going to be very good. And it was gripping. But not because of the acting. The acting was decent at best and the actors in the film did a much, much better job and were far more natural.

Great content, average acting
