'm not sure when the author wrote this book, but despite starting with praise of Trump, Musk and Doge coin (which I see features on the cover) there is little mention of them after the opening few chapters and nothing at all about their public bust up.
The aspirations of transparent, accountable, efficient government without corruption or nepotism are laudable. However, the author's bias in crediting these to Trump, Musk and DOGE is naive or self-contradicting. The unconscious irony of describing the secret meetings in discrete locations to set up ways of introducing more transparent government is later exposed by telling you (without pointing out the fundamentsal flaws) that a judicial ruling declared such meetings about public government unlawful. There is also an unflagging extolling of blockchain as immutable and secure despite infoirmation that it was shown to be neither. I have given three stars because you are given other information against the DOGEmodel, but the praise and adherence to it being a model to emulate continues throughout with bold statements that other countries would want to follow the example despite the description of DOGE following the model of "break things and move fast.". This is despite describing other countries where the introduction has been gradual, with population consent and iterative. Estonia Singapore, South Korea and UK are cited as positive examples of introducing digital government, but the distinction of their methods compared to rapid, over-reaching and imposed secretively devised models is insufficiently highlighted. Also omitted are inconvenient facts about the total closure of USAID instead of trimming it: the poor savings acheived against the trillions initally claimed for DOGE (and may be actually more costly when the numerous lawsuits are settled) with the nepotism and cronyism in Trump's administration appointments being there for all to see.
The author was also the narrator and became tedious toi listen to, not only because of the wrong stresses on words at times, but because of the high degree of repetition. Maybe because there were few postive examples, they were repeated many, many times to the degree I think the book would be a third of what it is if edited properly. Neither did the chapters make much sense as few new points were made and the same ideas, ideals and author's admiration for DOGE were re-iterated without apparent insight or understanding of the content of previous chapters..
