En el intervalo de esas horas conoce a Paula, joven bailarina de una compañía que pasa por la ciudad. Paula y la compañía le descubren un mundo desconocido. Por ello, Dionisio reconsidera su intención de casarse para marcharse con Paula. Escrita en 1932 aunque estrenada veinte años después, en 1952.
