Written 1988, it's a reflection of its time - the tough hero men want to be and women want to be with. The US is the kindly world power who nonetheless wants to keep all the treasure, but doesn't want to fire on illegal immigrants. The story ticks along and it's good 'suspend your disbelief' nonsense.
Scott Brick is excellent as always.
