Nice story writing, but your beyond reason

The summary sets a premise that a demon inhabits the main character and she is forced to take a side in a number of demon related conflicts. The irredeemably foul nature of the demon is within this premise, and most of the other story writing is nicely done, but every thing related to sex or sensuality is either introduced out of place or escalated faster than anything else in the story approaches.

This detailing every evil thought of human or demon seems to be intended to shock the reader and replace the story. In the abstract, the demon taking possession of the main character's body, and the associated life changes, are thus represented emotionally, but this also sets a new premise that the story is about the sexual pursuits of the demon and the main character. Since there is no hint that the characters know anything about the true nature of sexuality in mankind, it tend to sound the inner mind story of a beginning addict and a veteran. This pretty much killed the story for me. Not even my persistent curiosity could motivate me to act beyond this flood of disinterest.

This book is going in my favorite folder!

Torn Asunder by Michael Todd and narrated by Emily Beresford is absolutely fabulous! It has a gal that gets kidnapped and used in a ceremony to host a demon. A group of people arrive seconds too late to rescue her from insertion but they do get her. They take her to their base. She is now considered "damned" . Her family will think she is dead. She will train to protect others from having the same thing happen to them. The group that rescued her are all "damned" also.
Her demon is a succubus. A very powerful and ancient demon too. Although our gal knows she is a demon, they share a body and if the body dies then they both die. Her demon, which she calls Pandora, is very helpful in keeping her alive which makes her quite the supergirl at times!
This has such great action, awesome characters, exciting situations, unpredictable circumstances, plenty of great dialogue, humor, and lots of emotion between characters.
The narration was terrific too!

This is a great start for a new series.

Ok so all of my previous audible books I have read and reread. This is the first one that was completely new to me, and I'm wondering what it took me so long. This story line is awesome, and the narrator might just be my favorite now. I can't wait to listen to the second book.

love it, again!

I always find new things that I missed the first 4xs I've read/listened to this series. The best part is to be able to hear the book while doing dangerous things. Like washing the dishes (dishwasher bluw a hose, hand washing works, now I use it as a air-dryer). or just sharpening knives, or painting. Love it again.

truely worth while

The story is very good, but it is made great by Emily Breesford, I listen to a lot of audio books by graphic audible which have speacial sound affects and multible readers. Emily does such a great job sometimes i feel there must by a whole bunch of actors working with her. the story is gripping and yet humorus. i have listen to all books out on audible. i will read the restnof the books if they dont come out. but i will wait a year hoping to hear Emily bring the story to life like no one else can.

Good start to a series

This is a good start to another series from the mind of Michael Anderle. Torn Asunder introduces the characters and sets up the world of the damned. The series gets better with every book and at the rate that Michael and his fellow authors put out stories in this and the Kutherian Gambit universe one never has to worry about not having anything to read or listen too.

The strong female lead and loyal cohorts are a hallmark of Anderle's writing and the narration of Emily Beresford is first rate. She helps the characters each have a unique voice and personality.
Katie & Pandora's story gets better as the series goes along. I personally love the interaction between the two of them.
