About this listen
Training is over. The hunt is on.
With Fyrion a distant speck behind us and the resources of the Dragon’s Right Eye out of reach, there’s only one place in the system we can go to gather the materials we need to advance to bronze.
Ilirian beckons.
But dangers lurk in those dark jungles, and the ruins of a civilization long dead house threats the likes of which no amount of training or meditation could’ve prepared us for. It’s advance or fall behind, and with the infinite sea at my back, there’s only one real option.
At least the monsters only want to kill me.

What I'm not entirely sold on is the final looming direction of the story. I hope it doesn't turn into another story about a large spaceship crew waging some random war. I like the closeness to the main character. The focus.
I'm feeling a bit lukewarm about the whole philosophy side about Infinity, but it's more well done than it would have been in 95% of other stories. Probably because it's gradual and logical and the author doesn't jump to Cool Conclusions. And ultimately, this is a coming of age story of sorts, so incomplete personal philosophies are fine as long as the protagonist continues to refine them. He also doesn't really act stupid.. mostly. A bit of drunken personal drama at the start wasn't perfectly delivered, but it resolved quickly.
There are some minor writing/editing errors, but after finishing the audiobook I struggle to remember all of them. (Like when a negative sentence led to a confusion between "discrete" and its opposite "continuous/gradual", but I got the message)
And of course the narration is beautiful. All in all, I'm glad I listened to the sequel, no matter what some reviewers complained about.
