About this listen

"To Be Read at Dusk" is one of Dickens better ghost/phantasm stories, complete with disappearances and people lost forever through other worldly influences or death. A story within a story told by couriers, go-betweens in the age of Dickens.

Narration is terrible. It sounds like the man is reading in the bathroom. Very echoey. He seems to struggle with a lot of the pronunciation and clearly didn't look at grammar from the written text, as quite often there were no pauses etc. Just one long droney sentence.

Very poor.

I felt as though I was listening to an eight-year-old in school in America trying to read an amazing story written by Charles Dickens. He absolutely slaughtered the narration with an amazing ability to mispronounce any “European” words. I cannot believe that whoever allows books/novelettes to be placed on audible has actually listened to it.
It is without doubt the worst narration I’ve ever heard and I’ve listen to hundreds of audiobooks. The only reason that I tortured myself to listen for the full half hour was that I knew the story only lasted for half an hour

Without doubt the worst narration that I’ve ever heard
