The story is fascinating with compelling characters, the baddies are totally bad and very scary, the action scenes are vivid. Some teary moments involving Wren and Cass. The ending is totally unexpected..and sad. Luke Daniels' narration is amazing and it's impossible not to be moved to sadness, feel the tension and suspense.

What did you like most about Three?
Before the last bit of the book, I would have answered the lack of information given away about the world. Enough detail is given that the world is vivid but the history remains shrouded in mystery throughout the book. But now I think I have to say that it is that I did not predict the ending. It is a rare book that weaves a narrative that can keep you guessing right up until the last few pages without just throwing out a huge twist. So basically I think the storycraft is excellent.What other book might you compare Three to, and why?
I think this book was actually rather unique, if I had to pick another similar book it would be "The Gunslinger" by Stephen King. The world feels similar and in many ways Three reminds me of the Gunslinger. However unlike the gunslinger this book does not suffer from pacing issues and character suppression. It feels like there are few main players and every single one was well thought out, rather than the similarly few but still too many from the Dark Tower books.Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I have not previously experienced this narrators work, but this was a fine introduction. If I had one complaint it was that the small child voice goes a little awry when the dialogue becomes more screamy.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several moving moments in the book. Given the slow reveal of world facts, I can't say too much, but there was one scene where two warrior spirits parted ways. It was amplified by the particularities of the situation those characters were in and the parallels between our own existence. That is a scene that will stay with me for some time.Any additional comments?
This really is an excellent book, it is rare to find a book that develops its characters and world well without drowning you in exposition while managing to maintain a swift pace. I would highly recommend it.Excitingly different book with good pacing
