Deeply heart wrenching but uplifting
If you are asking yourself whether you should read a book you already know the ending to, the answer is YES! Heartbreaking yet beautiful and poignant, this book will inspire you to live your best life.
In the not so distant future, a midnight call from a service called Death Cast will politely inform you that you are going to die that day. Not when precisely, or why or how - but it WILL happen and there is nothing you can do to avoid it. Mateo and Rufus are teenage boys who receive just such a call and in an intricate web of connecting characters, they set about to make their last 24 hours count.
Fantastic performances from all the actors and one of the best books I've listened to on Audible.

A lovely way to have an existential crisis
I'd call this book a light dystopian centred around one simple change: if an app could contact you the day the die. That said, it reads more like a young adult contemporary novel. Two guys receive their end day notice and learn how to live. It's a thoughtful and beautiful story with quirky world building, and well narrated throughout.

Beautiful & Heartbreaking
After seeing some of the negative reviews I was sceptical but after the fittest few minutes I was hooked and couldn’t stop. I felt like I was on the emotional rollercoaster with the character and yes I sobbed. Although it’s one of the most heartbreaking books I’ve read the beauty in the storytelling makes it all worth while. A must listen/read.

Heartbreaking, memorable and addictive
The kind of story that stays with you. A beautiful analysis of what it means to be alive, told through the eyes of two young men about to die. A listen I'd highly recommend.

Heartwarming, moving and inspiring 🫶🏼
I loved this book from start to finish. The narrators are really easy to listen to and really capture the essence of the two main characters.
The whole concept of the app that tells you your ‘End Day’ was really well executed and the accessible ways to spend your last day in the book were so imaginative, it makes me wish they actually existed (not because it’s your last day, but being able to travel the world in 80mins would be cool!)
Sad to finish the book because I could have listened to the narrators talk all day. Easy 5 stars because it got me in the feels 🥹👏🏼✨

Surprisingly good listen
the story starts a little slow as you begin to get your head around each character but a once you understand the general idea of "the End" it becomes a sweet tale of two people brought together by chance. You get to also hear of others who are in a similar position and even though they are not the main focus you grow fond of them, if even for a brief moment. Fully enjoyed it up until the end and although left with wanting to know exactly what happens next, the author left a good cliffhanger that is up to interpretation of how it could have ended for our protagonist. A 100% must listen for sure

I read the book first.
I listened after reading the book first and enjoyed it just as much! The narration and cast read it so well and loved hearing Rufus and Mateo come to life, a heartbreaking amazing story and I cried cried cried.
