Summary

Eva Webb didn't know what she'd find the night she secretly followed her fiancé. She had feared he was meeting another woman.

But it was so much worse than that.

The man she loved betrayed and kidnapped her, packing her onto a truck destined for the black market to be sold to the highest bidder.

But when the vehicle is ambushed, she is delivered into the hands of her fiancé's enemies: mercenary brothers who would stop at nothing to take him down.

For Gabriel and Syn Rivera, hijacking the truck and stealing its cargo was another job, another way of taking back what was stolen from them. Discovering Eva on board was an unexpected bonus. They now held in their grasp the one thing that could bring down an entire organization, making her a pawn in a deadly game - a game in which she'd need their protection to survive.

But that protection would come at a price.

Now captive to the brothers, Eva would learn that they have always shared their women, and she would be no exception. They would keep her safe. They would protect her. They would make her theirs.

But in a world where criminals often wear two faces, where putting your trust in the wrong people can get you killed, will Eva find she has mistaken lust for love, or will this unlikely union survive?

W.O.W.

I really loved this dark romance. I really am a fan of this author.
This is such a good book, plenty of twists and turns and scorching hot scenes. Sid and Gabriel are two hot 'Brooding Brothers' that love to share their women. Evangelina turns out to be a strong beautiful woman that they are very attracted to and because of who she is they take her to their home for protection. It gets better and better from there. The narration on this book was great although it could have used a guy as well. But, can't take anything away from this book it was superdeliciouslygreat!!!!!

Not her best work

While this could have been a great read. It fell flat because the characters lacked depth and believability. The main female character was just plain weak. It’s was hard to believe given the plot and story line that she fell in love with 2 bothers who spent the vast majority of their relationship treating her like their sexual slave with very little consideration for her feelings or sexual preferences. When they first bring Eva home they don’t even let her wear clothes; telling her it’s a privilege. Honestly, I just couldn’t relate with her or the men in this story and I’m not Squamish when it comes to sex. That being said I have read other work by this author that was well written. Just not this story.

Sickening

*** spoilers ahead (as if it is possible to “spoil” this story) ***

The publisher’s summary is inaccurate. “They would protect her.” In what language does “protect” mean rape, beat, whip, terrify, humiliate?

The reviews that are confused about whether the brothers in this story are good or bad are bizarre. The brothers are evil no rational person person could think otherwise. We are supposed to feel empathy for the brothers because of a past injustice and how they feel a tiny morsel of guilt for abusing selling kidnapped women. Are we supposed to forgive Hitler because he liked dogs? Kidnapped young women are saved from being sold as sex slaves by one group of criminals only to have the same fate, including torture, rape and abuse, visited upon them by these two brothers. Somehow we are supposed to accept this because, instead of living as sex slaves for years it turns out the women are merely bait used to draw in other criminals. If the women survive at the hands of the men the brothers sell them to they might be rescued in a few months....if they survive. Eva, a young woman who is either not very intelligent or suffering from Stockholm Syndrome falls for her tormentors after they taught her the joys of slavery through abuse, humiliation and rape. It’s a good thing she turned out to be a submissive who was both sadistic and masochistic. After one of the early sessions of abuse one brother told her, “There you needed that”, I threw up in my mouth. What she needed was psychiatric help not orgasms, that’s probably the case for some of the reviewers here as well as Ms Knight.

I gave up and skipped to the end, sure enough, it didn't get any better.

New Twist on a Menage

The cover had me instantly wanting to read this without even looking at the blurb. Once reading the blurb, I thought it seemed like like a new twist on the genre. I was definitely right in with that thought. Natasha put a new twist on MFM menage with the twists this story took. It has all the sexy times you would hope for in a book like this but there is also so much more. There is a real story behind the sexy which takes this from typical to amazing! There were a few parts that did not sit well with me but they did not take away from the overall book.

The narration was good, Kelly Owens did great with the different POVs.

Not notable

The narrator sounded like a little girl reading adult literature. Could have been so much better.

Theirs to Take

If you could sum up Theirs to Take in three words, what would they be?

Dark, Intense, Discipline

What was one of the most memorable moments of Theirs to Take?

When Gabriel and Syn whip Eva to make an example out of her for the other girls.

What does Kelly Owens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings a sense of realism to the story. As if you are hearing the story as told by aves.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me cringe when she is spanked and whipped.

Any additional comments?

This was a really great book. It touches on the human trafficking issue. Wonderful dark romance.

Not eve worth one star!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I had to give at least a star to continue on with a review. I take the time to do this in the hope of saving someone else from subjecting themselves to this book. If you enjoy hearing of innocent girls' torture, humiliation and degradation then this book is for you. I get enough of this ugliness any day of the week on the news. This isn't literature. Don't believe it has a name. Hopefully for some out there who might read this review - you've been warned.

Steamy! Good story ruined by TSTL heroine

Narration was excellent. However, I found the actions of the girl in the story to be annoyingly stupid. She's a captive who's had the rules clearly explained and she continuously repeats easily avoided transgressions that get her beaten. Idiot! I'm not talking about escape attempts (those are understandable although first was stupid because no thought put into any plan) but other small things that were unnecessary.

Beware: there is some light BDSM-ish activity involving pain. Not for the squeamish.
