It is such a delight to read a tale of werewolves who don't ride motorcycles or pick-up trucks. A satisfying fusion of horror story and historical novel which never becomes predictable (actually I did pick up the big plot twist well in advance and it in no way detracted from the story) The characters were well drawn and credible and the narrative rattled along at a fast trot before galloping through the final chapters. The narrative held me to the very end and I would happily have read more. Rosemary Benson's performance brought the tale (or perhaps I should say "tail") to life effectively delineating the various characters by giving each consistently their own unique voice. I will probably read this again in a year or so.
