Summary

S příchodem jara se Krtek chce věnovat jarnímu úklidu, ale už po chvíli ho smýčení nebaví a vyrazí do světa za dobrodružstvím. Potká Vodní Krysu a spolu zažijí nejednu veselou historku, které vyplňují hlavní dějovou linku knihy o polepšení namyšleného, hloupého a egocentrického Žabáka. Ten porušuje jak morálku, tak zákon a nemá nikde stání. Z nudy vymýšlí každou chvíli nějaká rozptýlení, která ho ale stejně brzo přestávají bavit. Naši hrdinové (i s pomocí rozvážného a moudrého pana Jezevce) ale ví, co je správné a Žabákovi pomohou nejen znovu získat ztracené panství, které mu ukradly lstivé lasičky s tchoři, ale také zjistit, co je v životě důležité. Kniha se stala natolik populární, že inspirovala mnohé spisovatele a hudebníky k jejich dílům. Například autora Medvíka Pú A. A. Milneho nebo irského písničkáře Van Morrisona či Pink Floyd.
