About this listen

A BRAND-NEW totally addictive psychological thriller with a twist you won’t see coming.

Just when I thought I’d got my life back together, a handsome stranger moves in across the street. He says he lost his wife six months ago. He says he’s here for a fresh start. But I think he might be a killer.

Three months ago, a serial killer tore through our perfect little community. But he’s dead now, and I’m doing my best to pretend everything’s normal — pot roasts, Pilates, and that my stepson TJ didn’t upend our lives the minute he arrived.

That was before the new neighbour moved in.

Damian Mankiewicz is a good-looking, friendly, charming widower. But there’s something off about him. The box in his hallway marked Do Not Open. The house he bought — the one where a girl was found murdered. And the way he always seems to be watching.

When a local teenager goes missing, the whispers start all over again. About TJ. About me. About what really happened here.

I’ve already been through hell once. I’m not doing it again. If the widower is hiding something, I’ll find out — before someone else disappears for good.

A jaw-dropping thriller about secrets, suspicion, and the dark side of suburbia. Welcome to The Estates.

Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Daniel Hurst, Valerie Keogh and T.M. Logan.

I was enjoying this story and looking forward to the twist but all was truly revealed in the epilogue which was somewhat a let down. I won’t be recommending to friends.

book two of an ok story. not as advertised, a gripping psychological thriller. Just full of descriptions of marble! floor counter tops etc. we could have done without it. the storm was weak and the characters more like desperate housewives than murderers or psychos. like book one the ending was rushed and inconclusive which leads me to believe there will be a book three which I won't be listening to. this book is ok if you just want somthing to listen to that doesn't need much thought.

definatly Not a phycological thriller.

Don’t read or listen to this unless you’ve read the first book. I had hope the characters would be a little better developed in the sequel but nope, equally shallow and unlikeable. The plot twist at the end was rushed and irritating. I don’t often give bad reviews but sadly I’ve been put off any further books by this author. I only wish I wasn’t the type of person that needs to know the ending instead of simply giving up on a book I don’t like, ever the optimist it will improve

Too shallow

Relied very heavily on the previous book (stepson) to make sense. I enjoyed the twists and links back to first book murders but it was very unrealistic and a bit silly at the end. Story dragged on and characters felt shallow . I'd not spend a credit on it.

Meh! It was ok

Implausible plot. Nothing made sense, nobody behaves like these people. I carried on to the end to see if there was a twist that made it more likely. The explanations at the end gave some credibility to their unlikely former behaviours, but I was left with more questions than answers
