I went into this book hoping for a practical, evidence-based guide to thriving and building strength on a plant-based diet. Unfortunately, it falls short in almost every way.

This book is a manifesto wrapped in gym bravado with little to no nutritional science to back its claims. It reads as a no-nonsense guide to smashing stereotypes about 'weak vegans' with a tone that is both aggressive and motivational, something which the reader/listener may actually enjoy; however, every chapter ultimately substitutes swagger for any real substance.

The core advice? Overshoot protein targets and lean heavily on convenience foods like mock meats, powders and supplements. While Austin admits these aren't ideal for long-term health, he brushes this off bluntly under the mantra of 'do whatever it takes to be strong' - a dangerous oversimplification for anyone actually concerned about long-term health. Daniel Austin’s approach boils down to: “Eat processed junk, hit your macros, and don’t worry about the consequences.”

This book proves that saying something with enough confidence can make it sound correct—even when it’s complete nonsense.
