About this listen

The Victorian Plague is a satire on self-awareness, religion and philosophy. The title is an allegory to what eastern theology dubs the ego, its effect on the conditioning of the modern primate and civilization as it currently stands. It is the author's unfiltered zeitgeist and theory of reality. The author presents a deconstruction of our modern-day perception of what reality is, what it means to be alive and presents some subjective theories of the historical influences that led us to arriving at the awareness that we currently rest at. It covers everything from education, psychedelic chemicals, cultural conditioning and the practical utility of Zen Buddhism. The book makes three absurd claims which are defended and elaborated on thoroughly, the author argues that the average civilized human being is hallucinating, there is no such thing as progression through time, and that we have no free will. It explains Eastern theology in English, not in mysticism.

This book is all you need to understand Zen Buddhism, the beauty and dread of language, and why you shouldn’t care about spiritual pursuits in the slightest. The book has two faces, yet it hides nothing. If you like this work you prove the author right, if you hate this work you prove the author right.
