Overall, this was an okay read with the potential for a strong plot and some genuinely well-executed twists that kept things interesting. The writing was mostly solid, with just a few moments where the flow felt slightly off, but nothing that significantly pulled me out of the story. The FMC was definitely a highlight; kind, thoughtful, self-sacrificing, yet still willful enough to feel human and engaging rather than overly perfect.

My main struggle was with the MMC. While his character started with promise, his shift after biting the FMC didn't quite work for me. He became more overbearing and lost some of the depth that initially made him intriguing. Instead of evolving in complexity, he became very predictable and lacked any growth, which weakened the emotional dynamic of the story.

That said, the book still shines in several areas. The world has real potential and feels refreshingly different from many familiar vampire settings, which makes it especially disappointing that the world-building sometimes took a backseat to frequent spice. Readers who enjoy steamy scenes throughout will likely love this, but I personally would have preferred more exploration of the setting. Even so, it's a 4-star read thanks to the FMC, the plot, and the originality of the world.
