About this listen

A book for the existentialists. A guide for those who seek self love. A journey for those who seek deeper truths about their own existence, in this vast and desolate universe. Unfortunately, this is a book not just about any death, but your own death.

After a life filled with uncertainties, you will finally take your last breath in a moment which was always promised to you. You have, perhaps, thought about this very moment from time to time, whether you would have lived a fulfilling life, ventured to the places on Earth which piqued your interest, or wonder how your loved ones may feel in your absence.

Unfortunately, the seemingly cruel notion of death is leaving behind a life which took a lifetime of dedication to build. Together, as an extension of your consciousness, we will explore where your mind could wander, dissect who you are, and reflect deeply on the meaning of life.

As you listen to the chapters, the aim is to ensure you are left uncovering more questions rather than answers that lead you on a journey of self-discovery and deeper truths, from the moment your press play. Join me, and let us take the time to extend our hands and tango with death.

Quotes: "the greatest failure in life is to have risked nothing...only the person who risks is truly free"
-interpretation: If you take risks against the odds, even with fear of failure. That shows you are not a slave to your fears. Even if you risk and fail, you still gain experience. But if you never took the risk, you'll never succeed.

Synopsis: This book starts by taking us to the end. To our last breath. What will we think about? What immediately comes to mind about our lives. This audiobook aims to challenge our own thoughts using philosophy rather than preaching a specific spiritual dogma. I really enjoyed it because the audio narration was quite relaxing and meditative. It allowed me to reflect on different topics such as love, loneliness, fears. However some of my interpretations differed with the author. On occasion I disagreed with the authors contemplation. For example the contemplation about the sinner vs the holy virtuous man. Where Rasheed contemplates whether religious virtuousness may stem from selfishness and fear of hell. But I contemplated and believe that religious virtuousness stems from truest and purest form of love and gratitude. Having a different interpretation or viewpoint is perfectly fine because this book allows you to interpret and mold the questions to yourself. No matter what you believe. If you read this, critically evaluate it and make your own interpretations.
