Just look at Michael Phelps and Justin Timberlake...the list goes on and on. We can teach our children to “change their outcomes” and find success by implementing concrete, proven strategies to help them navigate all of life's challenges. I have new respect for ADHD parents!!

Good points and information relayed in this book. Things like the pressures of schools and even going to school. I like the concept of creating a homework space for an ADHD child. An area setup exclusively for them to do homework in the manner that hey need and not just any space..

FILLING WITH A LOT OF HELPFUL INFORMATION

This book is excellent! It was clear from the first few paragraphs that the author was well aware of my struggles and those of my family. My husband and I have been battling with how to support our daughter without suppressing her vivacious spirit as she has struggled for years with hyperactive and impulsive habits. Reading this book has made me understand that we are not alone and that, with the correct support, she can and will have a fantastic future. Children and families can choose from a variety of possibilities in this book that has been exquisitely written and well researched to meet their requirements. I've learned through reading this book that although having ADHD might be difficult, it doesn't have to be a burden.

Positive method for my unique child

My 8-year-old son has autism and ADHD. I found the techniques taught in this book to be helpful to help him have the best and happiest life he can. He acts out often, but it isn’t that he’s trying to be “a bad kid”. It’s because he processes things differently than other kids and that can be difficult for me to know how to handle in the correct way. This books has helped teach me proper techniques for my unique child. I found “the basket method” in this book to be especially helpful for dealing with tantrums.

Great tips to help your child keep focused!

We're living in a world full of distractions and it's difficult even for us adults to keep focused let alone our children. I find these strategies helpful whether your child has ADHD or not! I love the key takeaways at the end summing up each strategy. Easy to get back, refer and find exactly what you need. When your child has ADHD, your whole family is affected and this book does a fantastic job of addressing the family aspect of dealing with ADHD and overcoming it together. Great book!

very insightful

For those who live with someone who has ADHD, this audiobook is a great resource. This audiobook defines ADHD and discusses various presenting behaviours. This audiobook also offers some management techniques to aid in controlling these behaviours and the underlying reasons of them. This audiobook was simple to understand and easy to listen to, and I learned more about how to help my brother and other people I could encounter.

Great advice

Excellent techniques to assist with dealing with ADHD. Wise, information rich and clearly tons of experience in this area. Extremely thorough and well presented. I especially like the section on using medication and the implications etc. You will definitely come away with a better understanding and feel more equipped to deal with and face each challenge. I also liked the focus on the type of foods that might make the situation worse. Great book!
