About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Truth About Keeping Secrets written and read by Savannah Brown.

Sydney's dad is the only psychiatrist for miles around their small Ohio town.

He is also unexpectedly dead.

Is Sydney crazy, or is it kind of weird that her dad - a guy whose entire job revolved around other peoples' secrets - crashed alone, with no explanation?

And why is June Copeland, homecoming queen and the town's golden child, at his funeral?

As the two teenagers grow closer in the wake of the accident, it's clear that not everyone is happy about their new friendship.

But what is picture perfect June still hiding? And does Sydney even want to know?

THE TRUTH ABOUT KEEPING SECRETS is a page turning, voice led, high school thriller.

My God! This book was so real and so raw in places that it hit home to me on two separate levels. I have lost a few people in my life mostly grandparents but it doesn’t make it any less easier. Now I don’t want to give out any spoilers but this book has an element of realism that not all the books don’t seem to have it doesn’t shy away from the dark thoughts that you go through when grieving for somebody. Now I know everybody is grieving process is different but it does the kind of thing where it just holds up a mirror to it instead so that you can see it rather than just be completely lost in it. But at the same time it allows you to sort of experience what being completely lost and it feels like particularly at the start of the book. It does a really good job of describing the fogginess and the WTF thoughts that you have. It’s not an easy read but it’s not supposed to be it’s fantastic highly recommended I actually read it once and then read it again straight after completing it that’s how good this book is

I bought this book not long after it being published, thinking the cover was cool and the blurb was intriguing. I’ve read the book 4 times and is the reason I got audible prime so I could listen to it when I couldn’t read it, when I was doing college work and wanted nothing more than to read it again. This book describes grief amazingly and what it feels like to like someone you think you shouldn’t. It’s an amazing book I’ve recommended to all of my friends, even the ones who never read. It’s my favourite book and id give anything to hug Sydney and tell her it’s ok and talk to her about anything.

I freaking love this book
