The story was rather unbelievable, rather like an Indiana Jones story, but even more fantastic, it was quite exciting but just too far-fetched for me to really enjoy it
I might have been able to overlook how far-fetched the storyline was if it had been narrated well, but unfortunately the narrator's attempts at American accents were pretty abysmal and this really grated for me.
I did persevere to the end but there were several occasions where I asked myself 'can I really be bothered to complete this book', obviously the answer was yes each time, but it was a close run thing.

The characters were two dimensional clichés.
I might have persevered to the end (just to get my moneys worth) had it not been for the truly dire narrator with his awful irritating impressions of American accents that come straight out of British 'B' movies from the 50's. It would have been much more acceptable if he'd just read the whole thing in his own voice, as it now stands I will, in future, avoid anything he narrates - which is a shame as it precludes me from listening to several books I might have otherwise been interested in.
