About this listen
After surviving the last great war, Moon Elf Ezekiel Graystone wanders the war-torn remains of Terrial in search of his lost brother. Along the way, he crosses paths with Davis - a young boy threatened by the malevolent church that serves the demon god king. As he tries to protect Davis, Ezekiel must confront the harsh reality of a world dominated by evil, where the wicked reign supreme and the innocent suffer. With the help of old companions and new allies, they must fight back against the church to thwart its twisted designs. Yet even as they battle, the looming presence of Tal'Dar and his forces threatens to destroy all.
The Summoner: Echoes of the Fallen is a thrilling dark fantasy exploring the consequences of what happens after evil triumphs.

This book was a lot of fun. The world is very interesting and fleshed out. And I wanted to know more about it (in a good way). It's an interesting premise to set the story in a world where the bad guys have already won. And it made the story very cool. It felt different from other books I've read.
The characters are interesting too. They work very well together and their interactions were believable. I liked all of them, some more than others. And I can't wait to learn more about them in the next book.
The story is good and kept me hooked all the way. It has a lot of good action moments. And now that I've finished I can't wait for the next book.
The narration is very good. Each character was given a unique voice so they were easy to tell apart. The voice for Drez made his character very endearing.
Overall it's a book with an interesting premise that delivers on it.

Ezekiel is essentially time-shifted into a future where his enemy has won, magic is restricted to the "church" and he is plagued by nightmares of all but forgotten war.
Decent worldbuilding and interesting characters. I quite enjoyed it! Looking forward to the second installment.

The story starts long after evil has won and is ruling the world. Interesting to see a world where evil is running things and people still trying to live their lives as normally as they can, in spite of everything.
It's a serious story but not in a depressing way, I enjoyed following along as the characters got to know each other, building their friendships during their struggles against the horrors of the demon god king's church.
The main character is a former military man (well, elf) who is kind and helpful but suffers from severe nightmares from the war long ago where the evil guys won. The characters are very likable and well written, and the narrator did a really great job on their voices, especially on the water goblin Drez who sounds adorable, and Ezekiel whose kind heart really shows through in the voice he was given.
Can't wait to listen to the next book to see where the story will go from here!
Enjoyable listen!
