Those words opened Michael Buerk's first report on the Ethiopian famine for the 6 o'clock news on October 24th, 1984. His reports sent shock waves round the world. Have always been extremely find of Michael Burke but found this story full of sadness and almost bitterness that I wonder if he has PTSD and possibly needs some counselling. Not a criticism as he has seen and experienced things that were clearly traumatic. Bravely written.
