Summary

The Rescue: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience! *

In this heartfelt romance from number one New York Times best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, a daring volunteer fireman rescues a single mom - only to discover that falling in love might be the greatest risk of all.

When confronted by raging fires or deadly accidents, volunteer fireman Taylor McAden feels compelled to take terrifying risks to save lives. But there is one leap of faith Taylor can't bring himself to make: He can't fall in love. For all his adult years, Taylor has sought out women who need to be rescued, women he leaves as soon as their crisis is over and the relationship starts to become truly intimate.

When a raging storm hits his small Southern town, single mother Denise Holton's car skids off the road. The young mom is with her four-year-old son Kyle, a boy with severe learning disabilities and for whom she has sacrificed everything. Taylor McAden finds her unconscious and bleeding, but does not find Kyle. When Denise wakes, the chilling truth becomes clear to both of them. Kyle is gone. During the search for Kyle, a connection between Taylor and Denise takes root. Taylor doesn't know that this rescue will be different from all the others.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

The rescue

The music drove me crazy! The beginning is great with the storm, then...constant piano scales. I usually don’t mind some music but this goes on for 10 hours! I would listen to an alternate version. The book is good fairly tale ending.

Good story, but didn’t like music

Nicholas Sparks never disappoints. This is another feel good story. However, we disliked the music so much, I exchanged the Booktrack Edition for the regular book.

Good book

The book and reader were very good. The music throughout the entire book was extremely distracting as well as the volume which would be quiet and then loud.

Absolutely beautiful story!

Nicholas Sparks did it again, but this one was truly one of my favorites! I didn’t want to put it down and didn’t want it to end.

Another great story!

I loved the story. Found myself never wanting to stop listening. Laughing, shocked, saddened, even crying at times, this book was easy to connect to. Love Nicholas Sparks and the way he writes.

Don’t get the book track version

The overall story was okay. Having read and seen other Nicholas Sparks books before I kept waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop. It drags on a big towards the end.
And more importantly, I think I would have enjoyed it more if the music wasn’t playing in the background. It was very distracting. This was my first and last book track version I will buy. I do not recommend the book track edition!

Depressing and bad music,

The musics and story were depressing. Way too much details about the boys problem. Wish it was a little less about the boy and more about the love story.

not like his usual books.

not his usual writing, slower and not as interest grabbing. only made it an hour in, not likely to finish this one, first time for one of my favorite authors.
