The zombie plague has been contained, right?

Not your typical zombie story

Roma has taken classic zombie genre and flipped it on its head. this is the walking dead on the range. we need more writeres like this taking the typical stories lines and giving us something new.

Moving and thought provoking zombie story

[Received a promo code in exchange of an honest review]

The story takes its starting point in considering what would happen if zombies were herbivores instead of cannibalesque carnivores and the cause of becoming a zombie is a infectious disease. (I’m not well enough into zombies to know if the latter holds true in any case.)

While trying not to reveal too much, this is a beautiful and heart-wrenching story that both presents and provokes what-ifs, thoughts on how we treat fellow humans and other animals, and comparisons to diseases/diagnoses/medical conditions known in reality.

The narrator isn’t bad, but has a certain “play-narration” sound to him; sounding like someone pretending to narrate something dramatic, but coming off slightly silly.

I would recommend this as an alternative story to those liking their zombie stories as well as to those trying to illustrate or put words on various diseases, diagnoses, medical conditions, etc.

Different take on the Zombie apocalypse!

Definitely a different take on the Zombie apocalypse!!! It's well written, unique and quirky and I enjoyed it. My heart broke for the boy!! It's only about 24 pages so it's extremely short but it's entertaining and that's what matters.

Brett Schumacher read this well. He was clear and easy to listen to and I enjoyed his performance too.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Great Zombie Short Story

I received a free copy of this story from the author.

I’m a big fan of Roma Gray, whenever she posts saying she has a new story out, there I am. Sometimes I like the story, sometimes I don’t; but either way, her unique tales always call me back wanting more.

This was the first time I’ve listened to this particular narrator. Overall, I think he did a great job and would love to hear more by him.

This story provided an interesting new take to zombies. It was different, and I liked it!

This story scared me and made me misty!

Roma Gray may twist your brain, send chills up your spine, and tears down your cheeks, but she always delivers a fabulous story! I'll never pass one up if it's from Roma and her slippery, twisty pen. Just wow.

Zombies!

Another great horror short story from the amazing Roma Gray! I love Roma's writing style and her stories never fail to entertain me.

Frank's job is to watch the Quarantine Fence that separates the infected from the uninfected. Most of the time, it is a tedious and boring job. But, today is different. There appears to be a breech in the fence and who knows what will happen?

I loved this story for many reasons. Without spoiling it for other readers, I truly enjoyed the very different approach to the zombies and their actions. This is not a story full of zombie attacks, blood and gore and undead shamblings. Instead, it is full of pathos, emotion and sadness.

Ms. Gray realizes that a story does not have to be gory in order to be horrific. Sometimes, the reader's imagination is all that is needed to make a story truly scary. Mr. Schumacher does a great job in his narration, which adds a lot to the story.

I was given the chance to listen to this book by the author and chose to review it.

A wonderfully different zombie tale

First off, I love the narrator. He does an amazing job with this short story. And the story....what an amazing tale. So different from other zombie stories I’ve read. Or listened to. I thought I knew what was up but no, I was way off. Imagine having to wear a hazmat suit, hot, miserable, walking your section of fencing, looking for zombie like people. Your fellow member tells you to watch closely. There is a child, with flowers for his Mom. And there the story takes an odd and sad turn. I can’t say more as I’ll give the story away. Just grab this and give a listen. You’re welcome.
