About this listen

After four years spent apart, Aaron is on his way home to marry the love of his life — his best friend. The proposal? It’s about to end in disaster.

Dedicated, determined, and head-over-heels in love, Aaron is ready to settle down with the man of his dreams — his best friend, Gage. With a prestigious degree under his belt, a promising career ahead of him, and a loving boyfriend to pamper and spoil for the rest of their lives, the future is brighter than it’s ever been.

Isn’t it?

The lie Gage has been living for the last four years is about to fall apart, and there’s only one way he can see himself holding it together. The proposal? It’s everything he’s ever wanted, but something he might never be able to have….

When the steamiest summer of Gage’s life leaves him pregnant with Aaron’s child, Gage knows what he has to do. He’s made Aaron a promise, and the future of their family depends on it.

Forced to keep his son a secret from everyone — even Aaron — Gage does whatever it takes in order to keep a roof over their heads. But when his child gets sick and Gage can’t afford medical treatment, he has a difficult choice to make.

How far will he go to keep his future family together?

When an unexpected reunion brings Aaron and Gage back together, they’re faced with a choice: Overcome the obstacles standing in their way to becoming a happy family, or accept that the proposal they’ve both been dreaming is never going to happen.

The Proposal is a 70,000 word contemporary omegaverse mpreg novel featuring a quirky group of single dads, a live stream you’re never going to forget, pretty pearls in naughty places, and a love that neither time nor distance can tear apart.

Gage is a sweet innocent man who is to stubborn for his own good and is hard on himself. Aaron is his 'man' who left to study so that they will have a good future together. Aaron has cone back unexpected and the misunderstandings and suspicions are kicking in. Ofcourse they find their happy ending with their toddler Beau and family secrets are revealed.
The narration was as I am used to by Michael Ferraiuolo excellently done. Voices of all the characters are consistent with the earlier and later books. I really enjoy his use of his voice to represent emotions etc

Two men with a communication problem.

I love many narrators, but I am not sure any of them except Michael Ferraiuolo could have done this story justice. It requires a performer whose voice is able to be strong and vulnerable at the same time for Gage and Michael is perfection here. He also captures Aaron's joy and hope at his return, his shock at the revelation he comes back to and both men's struggles to understand each other and the new relationship they must establish. This book takes a trope that has been around forever in the romance/soap opera genres and makes it ring emotionally true for a contemporary m/m audience. A stellar effort by both author and narrator.

Perfect mix of narrator and story

4.25 Stars!

So, I was looking forward to listening to Gage's story since we met him in book 1 as Alex's BFF, he seemed nice and his son Bo was adorable. Unfortunately, while I liked the book, it wasn't quite as good as The Problem for me.

Gage was barely making ends meet, hiding his son from everyone but his friends Alex, Mal, and the guys on the SDSG (Single Dads Support Group), so his boyfriend Aaron could finish his PhD abroad and provide a future for them. Only, Bo got sick and it made it even more difficult for Gage to support him, even with Alex's help. When Aaron suddenly turns up at Gage's doorstep, secrets and miscommunication might make things difficult for them to reconnect.

Okay, so I wanted to shake Gage since we met him in book 1, because of how difficult he was to accept his friends' help when his son's health was on the line. Really, that should've been his first priority and not that he didn't want to inconvenience Aaron. *sighs* At least he finally admitted to it and actively sought the help of his family, so there's that. And Aaron, well, I get that finding out that he had a son and the things Gage had to do to support him weren't easy, and yes, Knot My Problem compounded on the problem with what he did, but the way he went about it, just made me want to scream. *sighs some more* So, yeah, they both had a lot of issues and a lot of growing up to do. At least Gage had the excuse he was 4 years younger and had had a hard time of it since he became pregnant with Bo, but Aaron didn't. *frowns*

I would've loved to see some bonding scenes between Bo and Aaron, I think less drama and more toddler-father interactions would've made the book better. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, I wasn't as invested as with Laurence and Alex, but I still wanted Gage, Aaron and especially Bo to get their HEA, and they did, so I guess all that ends well is well. And I also wanted more Alex and Laurence and maybe less of Knot My Problem being a twat.

I can't say anything wrong about the narration, because it was fabulous as always. Michael Ferraiuolo can't do wrong in my book, and even if I was frustrated with the MCs, Michael's performance made it more enjoyable than it would've been just reading the book.

A bit frustrating, but still good...

A story I couldn’t wait to listen to since I read the first book in the SDSG series. Gage (TD) has been waiting for his love to come back. It’s all a mistery in book 1 but when Aaron comes back and the background is told I felt so touched by Gage’s sacrifices. They are so in love with each other but secrets and their time apart seem to have a bad effect on them. Aaron is kind of impulsive but with a great heart. Gage is sweet and a bit too proud to make ends meet for his son Bo. It wraps up beautifully though, they do have their ever after. And the narrator... the best!

Awesome series!

Piper Scott always puts an unusual spin on everything she writes!

Three quarters of the way through The Proposal I'm enjoying the heck out of a wonderful 'second chance' romance. I've got this feeling like something's just gotta go wrong... a few too important lose ends still floating around out there. Well, bamm, we get every bit of our expected angst in one fell swoop, and it was was awesome.

This series is unique and a lot of fun, plus it's performed by Michael Ferraiuolo who does an amazing job. I love his voices, and he puts incredible emotion into everything he narrates. It's easy to hear how much he enjoys reading Piper Scott's stories and they're a marvelous combination.

Very Romantic Story, MF is Fantastic
