Horrifying, heartbreaking and eye-opening, these are the stories, the patients and the cases that have characterised a career spent behind bars.

The no-holds-barred memoirs of a GP who went from working at a quiet suburban practice to treating the country’s most dangerous criminals - first in young offenders’ institutions, then at the notorious Wormwood Scrubs and finally at Europe’s largest women-only prison in Europe, Bronzefield.

fascinating insight into life as a prison doctor, also some very sobering real life stories that left a feeling of greater appreciation for what I have.

Great listen

I honestly started sceptical but really enjoyed this, would definitely recommend this one to anyone.

I enjoyed hearing about the authors time working in prisons but I didn’t enjoy the narration and this took away from my overall experience.
Her attempt at doing accents for the various characters was cringe worthy at times but despite this I found the content interesting and felt a range of emotions throughout.

Great story but the narration....

Enjoyable listen, which was easy to listen to. Good narrator which isn't always the case with audiobooks.

Enjoyable .
