Enjoyable Easy Listening
Having started my 'path' through Scandanavian mystery novels with Stieg Larsson and then moving onto Henning Mankell I decided to try another scandanavian writer....
I enjoyed this story all the way through and while it didn't grip me the same as Stieg Larson's trilogy I did find it an enjoyable and easy listening experience and am going to purchase the other English version book by the same author.
As another reviewer said I would like to hear more scandanavian crime novels available on audible.

An excellent Scandinavian murder mystery
2003: The body of a tortured woman shows up on top of two other bodies, both killed in 1979. The police need to solve both set of murders and discover the circumstances that link them to each other. The suspects all belong to the same family, the descendents of a faith-healer and preacher. Well read and well paced, this is a treat for fans of Scandinavian murder mysteries. I would love to listen to more of Camilla Lackberg's books.

Entertaining but not gripping
A good story but I just didn't get closely drawn in. The narrator was fine, but the development of the characters seemed to me to be overdeveloped, and this is one where I would have preferred an abridged form. The breaking up the book into sections for CD didn't help either. I didn't find myself making time to listen to the next section, and even considered not completing the listen. I wouldn't be in a hurry to listen to other books by this author.

Makes Agatha Christie Seem Like Steig Larsson
I have been an avid collector of Audible downloads for some months now. My first introduction was 'The Millennium Trilogy' which soon got me hooked on Scandinavian detective fiction. Moving on to Norway, I enjoyed the work of Jo Nesbo and was soon looking forward to a new authors who may be working along the same lines.
Unfortunately, I picked up this novel by Camilla Lackberg and my enthusiasm was soon dampened. Even allowing for the fact that the translation may have been poor, there is no disguising the fact that this is the lamest book I have ever read. The characters are so one dimensional, it is beyond belief. In fact they are so bad that, at times I had to laugh. However, laughter soon gave way to annoyance, especially as the delivery of the reader bordered on the hysterical. He had nearly every character shouting their responses. I lost count of the times he yelled out responses such as 'What the Hell are you saying?' or 'Are you trying to tell me that?'
Whilst a 30 year old mystery and a murder are trying to be solved, a young girl is abducted and looks likely to be tortured to death. A motley collection of local coppers painfully try to solve the mystery whilst having a lie in, playing golf, skiving off for extra lunch breaks. The main officer's heavily pregnant wife has to endure a series of unexpected guests who turn up without so much as a bottle of wine in their hands and expect to be put up for days on end. It is all utterly ridiculous and i have no idea how this writer became a best seller.
My advice: AVOID!

Good long entertaining detective story
I am new to audible books - I don't commute a lot - but I bought this book because I wanted to read it and I have already bought another audiobook even before finishing this one. Nice entertaining murder mystery. The reader is a bit funny when he does female voices but he does a good job nevertheless.
I admit I had to write the genealogy of the Hult family to keep track of characters.
It helps a lot to have read the Ice princess before - the history of detectives and their families runs along the murder investigation.
I have read and loved all of Wallander/Mankell stories - Lackberg has a style of her own but the type of novel is similar to Mankell in many ways.
