Great book for Christians. If you're not, not.
Fabulous if you are Christian and like listening to sermons. As a non Christian I found it difficult going. It's a great message but definitely written for a very specific audience with bible references throughout. Had I known beforehand that the author was a pastor I probably would have avoided it.

Resonates
My own story is that I discovered spiritual principles through the 12 steps of AA.
Later on I became a Christian, but fell away from the church because of the people who seemed to be on my case all the time -- sinners condemning sinners.
My spiritual path continued -- back to the steps, then to Buddhism, then Law of Attraction, then back to the steps, then New Thought and so on -- forever seeking and finding different ways to God, and realising at the core of it was the same need for a surrender and let go of control.
As such, I personally came to view the biblical story as allegory rather than literal -- my personal relationship with the Divine is based on love and compassion and surrender rather than anything written down thousands of years ago.
I don't call myself 'Christian' because it means so many things to so many different people, and I'm not into the politics of spirituality, just my personal relationship with God.
This is a good book -- it's woken me up to a new way of looking at Scripture, and should also resonate with other people who are seeking the abundance of the divine, without the judgement of man.

Another "great book" of Joel Osteen
Just like all his books, makes you think positively towards life.
However he does kind of recycled some of the examples or sections from his previous books.
hence the 4 stars. I wished he just wrote a brand new book with a totally different content from all his prior books and put more scriptures on it.

Very repetitive!
Very very repetitive. Could have been a quarter of the size, wouldn't recommend spending the money for the book. Probably equal value if a Google search for author found.

Happy to have found Joel and his book
I am not overly religious and this book is talking about God a lot, but I like that this book talks how God works with you. It made me feel happy to know I am not alone. I just listened to the Audible version and once it was finished I want to listen to it again, it has such a feel good factor to it !! But also it had a lot of Spiritual teachings that resonated with me and strengthened a lot of other 'I am' material I have listened too & read but not in a repetitive way. I have never heard of Joel as I live in England but he is inspiring and very funny. I would love to watch him live.
I never write book reviews but I felt that I needed to say how power this book was to me, just amazing !!

I am who God says I am. I am Awesome, I am Blessed, I am favoured. I am God’s Child. You are what you believe you are!
It keeps me motivated and focused. It’s my constant reminder that I am a child of God, that I am never alone!

Brilliant for Christians!
As a Christian myself I found this book interesting. It’s quite repetitive in places, sort of preachy, but I think that’s what helps us understand and absorb the teachings.
The beginning of the book threw me off a bit, when he started going on about women telling themselves they are beautiful, before their husbands start thinking and believing they are not. I do appreciate that women do tend to beat themselves up a lot on the way they look, but I did cringe listening to the beginning of the book.

I love this book
I can’t even remember how many times I have listened to this book. I have really bad self esteem issues and my mental health normally takes quite a few dips. Listening to this book reminds me of the fact that I am a daughter of God and my value lies with him. He is the one who has a plan for me and I am worthy of Hos love. This book by Joel Osteen inspires me to change my mindset and believe in the power of words. Words are so much more tangible than we realise. Thank you Joel for your inspiration and encouragement. I truly value your teachings.
