“Emotional self-care through the lens of resilience means letting yourself cry without having to explain it” — wow, no truer words have been spoken and Calissa Ngozi does a fantastic job of helping listeners understand that when we allow ourselves to feel our emotions and express themselves as they need to without judgement (obviously in safe environments), reparation is a natural byproduct. “The four domains of self care” chapter was of particular note to me but this title is packed with self-help goodness that clears emotional baggage and begins the process toward betterment.

The bits on settin boundaries and rethinkin how you use your time felt proper real, not just fluffy advice. And the ideas for free little breaks and planned stillness? Easy to try and surprisingly sound.
Some themes pop up more than once, but it’s more like a gentle nudge than goin round in circles. All in all, it’s steady, compassionate support for anyone who’s ready to breathe again and feel a bit more like themselves.
