What precisely is the origin of the world's best known secret society? Did they emerge from a simple stone masons guild? Or was the genesis much older and maybe has roots in ancient Egypt? Many people have made a great many assumptions, but how many have seriously investigated the actual real evidence? David Harrison is an academic and author (The Genesis of Freemasonry) who has spent years doing just that. These are his conclusions in his own words. Unravel the myths, mystery and history of the Freemasons in this unique program for the first time. Get real hard evidence direct from the mind of an academic on the subject and not the imagination of the speculative writers.

Join us as we unpick the sacred past of the Freemasons in alchemy, the occult, stone working and much more. A fascinating program and a must for all Freemasons and those interested in the genre.

Not what I expected but refreshing to hear a more balanced opinion of the Freemasons based on knowledge of people who actually are part of the organisation rather than individuals who have watch YouTube too much. Also information gained from well read historians that know their subject well and not just from pro Freemasons. Interesting to hear positive attributes of the Freemason rather than acknowledging only the negative.

Interesting

The description that accompanies this title is, in fact, highly deceptive. This is not a work written and narrated by David Harrison - this is a podcast interview with Mr Harrison that has been repackaged and presented as something that it really is not.

What's more, it's not one, single, in-depth interview with Mr Harrison (which I believe would ultimately have been worth downloading) but three different interviews, only two of which are with Harrison. And the interviewer does not, ultimately, engage in a thorough, professionally-conducted dialogue. Terribly disappointing.

I think Audible UK needs to pay greater attention to the calibre of what it's carrying; at the very least, it needs to ensure that what almost amounts to false advertising is not tolerated on its site.

Deceptive and disappointing.
