After listening to this audiobook my eyes were opened to a more structured way to do this. I would freeze things just because I didn't want them to go bad, but now I can freeze them with care, caution and proper methods. I never knew i needed this book. The author thought of everything and helped you understand the dos and the don't and the cautions. I especially love that the author included recipes using the freeze dried food. This audiobook with accompanying PDF is well structured and thought through for anyone to follow. I think it lives up to the name of being the only beginner freeze drying guide you'll ever need.

I did not even know what freeze-drying was until I saw the cover of this book, and it instantly grabbed me, so I had to get it. What a clever idea to create a book about, given we went through 2 years of a pandemic, and god knows what other disasters have happened since then. So if you were like me and clueless on this topic, then chapter one is a great start. You will get a fantastic overview of what freeze-drying is, so listen up and think of the many benefits this chapter will provoke in your brain. As the book progresses, it will explain the many things you will have to do, such as cutting and preparing the food and packaging your freeze-dried food, etc. This book is really loaded with content. I think chapter ten's tips and tricks were my favorites, so get through it into this chapter. Well narrated and a really interesting topic.

This audiobook comes with several bonuses. If you are interested in purchasing a freeze-dryer or already own one, then this audiobook is for you. A freeze-dryer is a fairly easy appliance to use. Just follow the steps and let the machine do its thing. After the covid-19 pandemic, the author points out we need to be prepared in case there is a country or worldwide food shortage. Freeze-dried food maintains 97% of its nutritional value and can last up to 30 years. That is so much better than any other kind of food storage. This audiobook explains everything that you need to know to be successful in freeze-drying food.

The author covers how a freeze-dryer works, what kind of freeze-dryer to purchase, where to install it, what accessories you will need, what kind of freeze-dried foods you can store, and what kind of foods can’t be freeze-dried. The author explains how to prepare the food before freeze-drying, along with how to store your food. Which you will need to do this in a cool, dark, dry area, in a container that will keep your freeze-dried food safe and secure.

As the author points out you can enjoy freeze-dried foods three ways, first by snacking on the freeze-dried food right out of the bag. Second, by freeze-drying ingredients, then using those ingredients to create meals, and third by freeze-drying complete meals, then adding water and heating them to enjoy. This was a really interesting audiobook, having been an avid backpacker, I am already familiar with the benefits of freeze-dried foods and definitely recommend this book to anyone willing to take on the task of creating their own stock supply of delicious freeze-dried foods.

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in homesteading. Part of homesteading, includes perserving food long-term. Not only were there viable information in each chapter, the author provides you with the recommedations on freeze-drying unit, equipment,and materials you will need. Also there are so many useful recommendations on what to do and not do when it comes to setting up the unit to faciliate a smooth process to freeze drying. There is so much you can do to preserve food, but this method is by far the best at perserving produce, meat, and even candy. The book includes reciepes and I'm excited to try those! Make sure to download the free pdf because it includes useful websites.
