The author explains how to prepare the food before freeze-drying, along with how to store your food. Which you will need to do this in a cool, dark, dry area, in a container that will keep your freeze-dried food safe and secure.
As the author points out you can enjoy freeze-dried foods three ways, first by snacking on the freeze-dried food right out of the bag. Second, by freeze-drying ingredients, then using those ingredients to create meals, and third by freeze-drying complete meals, then adding water and heating them to enjoy. This was a really interesting audiobook, having been an avid backpacker, I am already familiar with the benefits of freeze-dried foods and definitely recommend this book to anyone willing to take on the task of creating their own stock supply of delicious freeze-dried foods.
