I don't often write a review- with over 300 titles in my audible library, it takes something special for me to bother writing a review.

this is something special.

i won't spoil the story other than to say what begins as a tale of old military colleagues reuniting slowly takes a turn into something much darker. i was hooked the whole way and was very sad to finish it. the narration is also excellent- which itself is very tricky to pull off.

I randomly picked this one night when I couldn't sleep and was riveted. The writers style and pace was really good and I though the opening was well crafted. Excellent narration too. Best find in some time. I intend to try soon more.

Bit of a slow burn, but to be honest I really liked it. Very descriptive but not repetitive. Will listen again.

Great storytelling. i enjoyed the first half of the book the most. The second half became a bit tropey and predictable, which is a little bit unfortunate, but it was still a great listen. I wish the answer to the mystery was a bit more complex or unpredictable, but I guess the focus of this book was something different. Great characters and some really thrilling and exciting sequences. I'll definitely check out more of the writer's books.

Audiobook review
A group of ex military keeping each other within thought distance realise one of their dwindling numbers is in trouble.
The problem is the forest he’s gone into is deep and wilder than any of them thought.
A fight to survive is on.
Good narration and author notes at the end to others who’ve been in the military. Thoughtful ending with that.
