Really enjoyed this one. Made a nice change for the setting to be a bit more “villagey”, with the London high society mostly just referred to. Good clutch of characters, entertainingly written and narrated.

Not one of Heyer's best. Narration is stilted although individual dialogue very good. Unsettling though.

Disjointed narration

I have the previous version of this book and, as it's a favourite of mine, thought I'd try the new recording particularly because it has a male narrator. Despite being better than some of the other new Heyer audiobooks, I do wish the narrator got the humour of the book, especially with regards to Tiffany. The older version is actually funny and I enjoy listening to it when I need a pick me up. This one is fine, a pleasant alternative but, honestly, did no-one at Penguin check whether any of the new group of narrators was capable of pronouncing so many of the words Heyer uses or had actually read the books before hitting record?

Decent narration but misses the book's humour

Really enjoyed this version. Well read and pleasant voice. I also own the Eve Matheson version so check which one you prefer before you buy.
