Can they navigate the worlds of vicious mobsters, corrupt police, and Broadway stars to find the killer?

The Missing Floor is full of plot twists and cliffhangers that make this book impossible to stop listening to. Vivid, endearing and memorable characters, along with a rich mastery of history make it impossible to tell which secondary characters are fictional and who actually walked the streets of Manhattan. After devouring the first book, I was nervous this wouldn’t live up to the hype , boy was I wrong! Ortiz somehow made the mystery even more twisted this time around. I found myself second guessing every character, which never happens to me. Sutherland’s narration continues to be stellar; his voice has become the soundtrack to my evening dog walks. The pacing kept me glued during my entire road trip last weekend. Seven hours flew by like nothing. This series has officially become my new obsession!

I love how this story throws you into a world where danger is everywhere, yet determination never fades. It’s about pushing forward even when the odds are stacked high and the risks feel too big. I found myself rooting hard for every step toward the truth, and it reminded me how persistence can cut through fear. It’s more than just a mystery it’s a rush of grit, courage, and the will to keep going no matter what’s chasing you.

I went into this one not knowing much, and honestly I ended up finishing it in a single day. The whole setup pulled me in quick, and the narrator really kept the tension buzzing. I found myself trying to guess what was really going on, but I was usually wrong, which I kinda liked. It felt like I was right there, poking around the mystery myself. A few parts got me actually pausing just to take it in. Overall, super glad I grabbed this.
