Summary

Indulge in three best-selling stand-alone romances from number one NYT best seller Lauren Blakely in The Lucky in Love Collection, performed by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon!

Best Laid Plans

I have it bad for Arden. She’s bright, brilliant, and insanely fun. When she asks for my help in the bedroom, I see my chance to win her sweet heart by showing her how much fun we can have getting spicy.

Trouble is, she has a different idea of what “sex-ploration” should mean. Now I’m going to have to get really clever to win her over.

Good thing I know exactly how to upend her best laid plans.

The Feel-Good Factor

A no-strings-attached fling with the fiery redhead who revs my engine? Why, yes, that does sound like a delicious perk of my new job in this new town.

Except, it turns out Perri’s my sexy, sassy landlord.

When she comes to me with a out-of-left-field proposition, resisting her is going to take more than handcuffs.

Nobody Does It Better

Some women are just forbidden.

Like - off the top of my head - my sister’s lifelong best friend.

Sis has made it patently clear that Vanessa is hands-off, as in keep my ladies’-man paws far away from her clever, go-getter best friend who’s ready for the real deal. That should be an easy guideline to follow, except Vanessa is deliciously flirty, easy to talk to, and laughs at my jokes. Translation - my libido has been craving her many, many years. So many that we might have stolen a kiss or two.

Can you say pent-up, crazy, raw desire?

Great collection of stories, couple of performance issues for me

This was a great collection of stories centred around a group of 3 girl friends in small town California and I wanted to be all 3 of them as they fell for hot, sweet guys with jobs in the emergency services.

I really enjoyed the plots and I loved joe arden’s performance. In the last novel, extra actresses were added to read some of the bit parts and I don’t feel that this added to my enjoyment of the story.

Also, in the first book, the two main characters narrated together and I actually found this a bit confusing. It was hard to work out who which parts were bejng spoken and which parts were inner monologue. Minor annoyances and nothing to do with the actors performances as these decisions were obviously not made by them.

My main issue was that I really struggled with Erin Mallons voice. I actually almost gave up after the first few chapters but i forced myself to persevere until i was eventually immune and then able to enjoy the whole collection.

I am not saying this to be cruel or catty. It is just my opinion but I think it will probably put me off listening to anything else she narrates. She had a nice voice and acted well but the way she drew out the words annoyed me- sorry. Only my opinion and you may find that it doesn’t bother you.

Lucky in Love is lucky for our ears!

A series of sweet romance stories with enough heat to warm you up on a cold winter's night! The author has woven wonderfully well developed (yep, in that way too) characters with warm, funny personalities to connect with and enough spice between them to keep you entertained for hours. The narration is outstanding and definitely makes for a delightful listening experience. This is a great way to jump into the first 3 books in the series and your ears will thank you for the fun entertainment!

The Best Laid Plans

cute premise. several smiles. like the H but the heroine is rather clueless and self-absorbed. JA does a good job. I think I need to stop listening to anything with EM the "breathy" crap is crazy irritating. she read more of this than JA, 6 chapters in a row at one point. ugh

The Feel Good Factor

story 3
EM seems to read the majority of this one. too many references to "officer and uniform and lock me up, etc" a couple smiles. Once was enough.

More smiles than the first two. Narration was fairly evenly divided.

Don't think about it, just buy it!

The good:  What a deal (3 books for 1 credit!); The narration is top notch (as is pretty much anything featuring Arden & Mallon).  Typical fun, sexy banter from Lauren Blakely.  I love that the relationships in the first two stories are filled with open communication and very little angst/drama. Each story builds on the last one -- focusing on three friends, Arden (story 1), Perri (story 2), and Vanessa (story 3).

Story 1: Best Laid Plans -- Sexy friends to lovers/testing out I love Gabe. I want more Gabe!  I also love their meet-cute.  I also LOVE the Fireside chats. I would listen to a full 15 hours of just Arden & Mallon talking. :)

Story 2: The Feel Good Factor -- I had a really hard time getting into this one.  For a short book, it's a slow burn.  You can feel the want growing for sure, and when they give in, it's an explosion.

Story 3: Nobody Does it Better - Forbidden love + trapped together = ridiculously hot!

The meh: I had a hard time getting into The Feel Good Factor, but that's probably just me.
